Signs That It Is Time To Visit A Gynecologist

Posted on

It is important for you to make sure that you are well aware of the signs that it may be time for you to schedule an appointment with a gynecologist. This way, if you are having any true issues, you will be able to be treated as needed, well before the problems get out of control.

Troubles With Menstruation

Having one month where your menstrual cycle was a little abnormal compared to what you are used to is not usually anything that you need to be concerned about. However, should you notice that your cycle now includes bleeding in between your periods, extra heavy menstruation, excessive abdominal pain, or multiple months where your cycle is no where near regulated, you will want to seek the advice of a reputable gynecologist in your area.

Issues With Urination

There could be multiple causes for problems with urination. Heading direction to your gynecologist can help you get any treatment that may be needed. Painful urination, never being able to completely empty your bladder, or having to urinate more often than usual can be due to a urinary tract infection or an STD. Your gynecologist will be able to test for such issues and then determine the best course of treatment for you.

Discharge That Is Abnormal

No one will know your body better than you. Therefore, if you happen to notice that you are having vaginal discharge that is different than what you are used to having, you will want to schedule an appointment with a gynecologist. Discharge that should be noted as different could be discharge that is green or gray in color. If it has an odor to it, that could be another cause for concern. Whether you have an infection or an STD, you will need medical treatment in order to get yourself back to having healthy discharge.

Pain During Intercourse

Healthy intercourse should not be painful. If it is, you may have a problem with an infection or excessive drying of the vagina. You may also have a problem with uterine fibroids. However, you may never get to the root cause of the problem until you visit a gynecologist for an internal examination. The sooner you make your appointment, the sooner you can start feeling like yourself again.

Just make sure that you are calling for an appointment as soon as you realize that there is a problem. This way, you will be well on your way to feeling so much better.
